Nawaz Modi Singhania, the separated wife of Raymond Ltd Chairman Gautam Singhania, is seeking a substantial 75 percent share of the industrialist's estimated $1.4 billion net worth. As the couple publicly announced their 32-year-long marriage's end, the battle for assets, including the prized JK House in south Mumbai valued at around Rs 6,000 crore, is intensifying. The 30-storeyed property houses Gautam Singhania's lavish car collection, though the exact worth remains unverified.

Despite Nawaz Modi Singhania making the details of their bitter spat public, Gautam Singhania has maintained silence, emphasizing the need for privacy in the interest of their two daughters. The accusations, including allegations of physical assault, have not been addressed by him. In response to queries, he stated, "Please respect my privacy."

Raymond Ltd, with a market capitalization of around Rs 11,000 crore, is a significant part of Singhania's wealth. The shareholding pattern reveals that the promoter and promoter group account for 49.11 percent, predominantly held in various entities. While Gautam Singhania's individual stake is unclear, Raymond's diversified revenue streams, including 40 percent from branded textiles, 16 percent from apparel, and growing real estate ventures, contribute to its over Rs 8,400 crore top-line.

In an interview with India Today, Nawaz Modi expressed frustration over Singhania's reluctance to settle, contradicting his social media announcement. She claimed that settlement was off the table, suggesting a desire to wait out the storm and avoid financial obligations. The dispute unfolds against the backdrop of Raymond's expanding real estate business, which has seen a notable 58 percent growth between FY22 and FY23, reaching Rs 1,115 crore. Raymond continues to develop 24 acres of its 120-acre property in Thane.
